Marta Gil grew up in Poland but moved to the United States in 1999. She lives in Yorktown Heights, New York.
Her passion for health, wellness, and helping others prompted her to study at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and become a Holistic Health Coach. After graduating from the program, she was helping her clients with nutritional and lifestyle changes.
Becoming a yoga teacher was the next step. Marta received her 500 - hour Teacher Training from The International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre. She has also studied with Tara Rachel Jones, one of the pioneers of Children's Yoga, and received a 95-hour certificate to teach children and youth. Marta teaches Yoga in after- and before-school programs in local schools and community centers. During school breaks, you can find her either in The Sivananda Yoga Retreat in Nassau, Bahamas, or The Sivananda Yoga Ranch in the Catskills. She is a teacher for the family and youth programs there.
While teaching group and private classes, Marta noticed that her students were often seeking her advice for various conditions. Often they would come to her with some structural problems, emotional or mental difficulties. Some of their doctors or therapists told them that Yoga helps. She knew that her experience as a yoga teacher and as a health coach would offer her clients a unique, holistic approach.
Going on to study Yoga Therapy with Brandt Passalacqua at Breathing Deeply Yoga Therapy School was just a natural next step for Marta. She knew that by consolidating and deepening her knowledge and experience, she would be able to serve her clients even better.
With all the tools available through Yoga, Marta is helping her clients to feel better and coaching them to take their health and wellbeing in their own hands.
